STRENGTH OF A WOMAN; Can Embu Women Hope To Have a Real Representative Now?

Judging by the words spoken by Ms. Susan Nyaga (pictured), the daughters of Ndega and Nthara (parents of the Embu community), may have some hope in having a representative in Parliament, who knows her thing...

MADARAKA DAY MESSAGE FROM HON SUSAN NYAGA -WOMEN REP 2017 EMBU COUNTY.

"Today  as we converge together as Kenyans to commemorate the 54th Madaraka Day Celebrations, the day we attained self-rule as a nation, preceding full independence from the yoke of the United Kingdom - which ultimately came on 12 December 1963; I would wish to appreciate our freedom fighters, the selfless men and women who gave their all to ensure we enjoy the freedoms we have today"

"As a woman leader, and the Incoming Women Rep Embu County , the day also emboldens my resolve to continue fighting for the full implementation of the gender rule as it is enshrined in the constitution.

Madaraka Day gives an impetus on why every step aimed at recognizing efforts by women and the girl child in the society should be given the support it so desires.

It is also time I call upon the govt to consider more women in both private and elective positions.

I also encourage women to be bold enough and agitate for their rightful positions in the society.

They should take advantage of the opportunities created by the constitution as these are the very ways in which democracy is advanced.

Today will also be a day to unite with family and friends; to visit those who are underprivileged in the society.

And to my great people of Embu, I wish you a HAPPY MADARAKA DAY and a Blessed Holiday."

BEAUTY AND BRAINS; Recipe of New LEADERSHIP for Embu Women

Ms Nicera Njoki Mugo, Women Representative candidate for Embu County 2017
Nicera is a new face of a leader, well experienced in matters concerning women. She has worked with women and youth for over a period of 10 years, whereby she has contributed immensely towards their financial wellbeing.

Having worked with people in different cultures, ranging from Eldama Ravine and Molo while in KWFT, Molo and Nakuru while in Faulu Kenya and SMEP Bank, she recently requested for transfer to Embu in order to serve her beloved County better. She has worked as a branch manager in Embu Smep Bank where she has been able to transform it from a unit office to a microfinance Bank within a very short period.

In all her serving capacities, she has always held positions of responsibility due to her diligence and commitment to service.

Having understood the various challenges facing women and youth both financial and social, she has taken it upon herself to take the challenge and address the issues impactfully.

For any society to progress, there is need to invest in women and youth and this requires a proactive approach by a leader who is creative, visionary and makes it happen by acting, not just talking. Let's walk the talk and ELECT Nicera for a nice Era for our Embu county.

IT'S 'THITIMA' (Electricity) AGAINST 'NICE' (Nicera) - Who Shall Represent Our Women Now?

Independent candidate for the seat of Women Representative for Embu County, Nicera Njoki

Well, it's been a long since anybody, among the elite middle class especially, seriously considered what the role of Women Representative in any county really is.

So many of us have been so mediocre; both voters and aspirants alike, that few seem to have considered the position  to be any lucrative, hitherto. Even the 'Boss lady' (Cess), must have most certainly not  thought about the seat before she sought the gubernatorial position, which as per now must go to the strongest of all. It's survival for the fittest, after all. It's the law of the jungle, and many of us are in the thick of it, today.

Now, about Women Reps,  the public perceives them as a different group of legislators, but far from that, they are in fact Members of Parliament (MPs) just like the members representing the Constituencies and those in the Senate. They were elected to balance the gender equation (affirmative action) but their role goes beyond this trajectory.

Women Representatives are supposed to primarily promote the interests of women and the girl child within their counties (and by large, nationwide) by coming up with legislation that favors and suits the women and girls within their dominions.

Now that Embu County needs a more able Representative for women, we've got Ms Wanjuki, alias 'Thitima' of Jubilee Party against Nicera a.k.a 'NICE', an independent candidate, as our bets. Who is who?

OUT OF ALL JUBILEE Politicians, Only Rayie of Runyenjes Had The Sense to Give Thanks.

Runyenjes parliamentary aspirant Raymond Kinyua (Rayie)

Out of All Jubilee Politicians, Only Rayie of Runyenjes Had The Sense to Give Thanks.

The picture below of Runyenjes parliamentary aspirant reminds you of the ten lepers healed by Christ thousands of years ago. Out of the ten men, only one came back to thank Jesus.
Similarly, we have all witnessed how rigorously our Kenyan politicians ran the voter registration exercise, urging all to register as voters. Well, we went out and registered as voters and our leaders were certainly pleased, but few thought of expressing their gratitude to the people. Among the few who know that power belongs to the people, is Raymond Kinyua, commonly known as Rayie of Runyenjes Constituency in Embu County.

What does this tell us? If Rayie is elected as Member of National Assembly come August 2017, he will most likely come back to the people and give thanks in form of performance - implementing his Manifesto. This is not mere speculation. It is a well known fact that before Rayie took the office of the County Secretary, everything was in shambles around Embu County Government offices. Upon taking the helm, this very articulate leader brought back order by ensuring that everyone did his or her job as it should be. Embu County started winning awards and confidence in the county government was regained.
Attendees listen keenly to Raymond, an eloquent and gifted orator, recently

This is just a titbit of Raymond's capability. More is coming about the strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities for and threats (SWOT Analysis) of all our aspirants, on this blogspot.
