Judging by the words spoken by Ms. Susan Nyaga (pictured), the daughters of Ndega and Nthara (parents of the Embu community), may have some hope in having a representative in Parliament, who knows her thing...
MADARAKA DAY MESSAGE FROM HON SUSAN NYAGA -WOMEN REP 2017 EMBU COUNTY.
"Today as we converge together as Kenyans to commemorate the 54th Madaraka Day Celebrations, the day we attained self-rule as a nation, preceding full independence from the yoke of the United Kingdom - which ultimately came on 12 December 1963; I would wish to appreciate our freedom fighters, the selfless men and women who gave their all to ensure we enjoy the freedoms we have today"

"As a woman leader, and the Incoming Women Rep Embu County , the day also emboldens my resolve to continue fighting for the full implementation of the gender rule as it is enshrined in the constitution.
Madaraka Day gives an impetus on why every step aimed at recognizing efforts by women and the girl child in the society should be given the support it so desires.
It is also time I call upon the govt to consider more women in both private and elective positions.
I also encourage women to be bold enough and agitate for their rightful positions in the society.
They should take advantage of the opportunities created by the constitution as these are the very ways in which democracy is advanced.
Today will also be a day to unite with family and friends; to visit those who are underprivileged in the society.
And to my great people of Embu, I wish you a HAPPY MADARAKA DAY and a Blessed Holiday."
